Biological safety cabinet

Class II BSC (Biological Safety Cabinet) of the facility is used to provide aseptic conditions for the maintenance of mammalian cell cultures.  The Class II cabinet protects the worker, the environment and the samples through HEPA (High efficiency particulate air) filters.

Air is HEPA-filtered as it is drawn into the cabinet and is also filtered upon exhaust.  HEPA filters remove the most penetrating particle size (MPPS) of 0.3 μm with an efficiency of at least 99.97%. Because filtered air is circulated throughout the cabinet, aseptic procedures can be performed preventing contamination in work environment.
